7 Things to Expect From Samsung Galaxy S24
Samsung has long been at the pinnacle of the Android phone market. With the new Samsung Galaxy S24 set to be launched early next year, many have speculated what the new flagship will have in store. Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed a release date for the Galaxy S24 as yet, but the company has a fairly consistent release schedule for its products. So, we’re likely to see the new model in February 2024. Here’s what one can expect from Samsung S24.
The release cycle for the Galaxy S23 series is presently in its early stages. However, one can certainly make some educated judgments based on what Samsung has done in the past, given the major rumors one has heard so far.
1. Galaxy S24 Variants
Since the launch of the Galaxy S20 series, each family has offered three models: a standard, a Plus variant, and the Ultra model. Samsung is predicted to continue using this approach in the upcoming launch as well. Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are certainly in the making.
2. Estimated pricing
Samsung’s pricing structure has been consistent across the last three Galaxy S models: the Galaxy S21 cost $799 at launch, as did the Galaxy S22 and S23. As a result, with no new information to suggest otherwise, users can expect Samsung to remain committed and provide the Galaxy S24 for $799. The Galaxy S24 Utra is expected to be priced at $1,199 for the 256BG, $1,299 for 512GB, and $1,619 for 1TB, respectively.
3. Design
For the first time in two years, Samsung updated the appearance of the Galaxy S series in 2023. Every phone in the family now has squared-off sides, camera lens cutouts on the back, and similar color schemes.
The display, on the other hand, may be improved. The next generation of Galaxy S phones may include high-performance 13th-generation (M13) OLED displays. These panels are smaller and use less power than the M12 screen.
4. Camera
The significant camera enhancements are normally reserved for the top-tier Ultra model, which was similarly seen in the Galaxy S23 series. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the only phone in the range that has received a camera hardware upgrade. It is known that different versions have different features, but let’s hope the regular models catch up in the camera department next year.
The selfie camera on the standard and variants has remained unchanged since the Galaxy S21 series. Every year, all phones in the series should get at least a slight spec upgrade to separate them from previous models. It also increases demand for the entire lineup rather than focusing solely on the most costly model in the series each year.
5. Upgraded battery
The Samsung S24 will need an effective and large battery inside to keep the show going with all the power it is sure to have available. Something that appears to be definite is that the devices will use new stacked battery technology, similar to the one used by Samsung to develop batteries for use in electric vehicles. Furthermore, the charging speed could be increased to 65 Watts. A greater-density cell could be crammed into the same space as the older ones, providing an instant boost and extending the time between recharges. If Samsung can pull it off, expect this to become the standard in the industry over the next few years.
6. Storage
One can expect Samsung to keep the same storage options that the Galaxy S23 family introduced with the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus. The Galaxy S24 will likely have 128 or 256GB of internal storage with no hardware options for additional storage. At the same time, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus will most likely be available in 256GB and 512GB capacities, reflecting its higher price.
7. Chipsets
As expected from a flagship phone, the chip inside will be top-tier. The S24 will most likely be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which should have been released by then.
There are a lot more speculations buzzing around the net for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 launch. One can expect more revelations regarding the lineup in the coming months. With a few features already listed here, one can expect this launch to be a great hit among Android users next year.
